Why Do Wimbledon Debenture Tickets Cost What They Do?
What is the difference between face value and debenture prices?
The official face-value prices for Centre Court tickets sold through the AELTC ballot are significantly lower — typically between £60 and £240 depending on the round. However, ballot tickets are non-transferable, non-refundable and awarded by random selection. They cannot be purchased directly by a member of the public. Debenture tickets are the only Wimbledon tickets that can be legally sold before The Championships. Their price reflects the secondary market value of a guaranteed, premium Centre Court seat with all debenture privileges.
Why are Men's Final tickets more expensive?
The Men's Singles Final at Wimbledon is the most sought-after ticket in world tennis. Demand consistently and significantly exceeds the very limited supply of debenture seats. The price of £9,995 per ticket reflects this exceptional imbalance between demand and supply.
Are there cheaper ways to see Wimbledon?
Ground passes allow access to the outer courts from around £25–£30. Ballot tickets, if obtained, offer Centre Court access at face value. However, neither can be guaranteed, reserved in advance or purchased directly. Debenture tickets are for those who want certainty and a premium experience, not a lottery.
